FAQ

What is the subscription timeframe?

An annual subscription typically runs July 1 through June 30, but can be adjusted for local program needs.  Subscriptions may start mid-year.  Programs may also opt for data coaching alone at any time, in preparation for a regular subscription package.

What is NOT included in the subscription price?
The subscription price includes all features and services listed in the top section of this page. Dashboard users will also need Microsoft Power B.I. software (approximately $3 per month per user, for nonprofits) the data visualization platform.
Do Q.I. Network analytics replace our current MIS?
No. Our data visualizations build on your existing MIS (ChildPlus, COPA, etc.) to help you tap the full value of your regular data collection and input work. Your current MIS is still an important and necessary tool.
What are the expectations for subscribers?

For a successful experience, programs should upload requested data reports 3-4 times per year (with guidance and support from our analytics team). Additionally, leadership staff will participate in an improvement team where they apply their learning to a practice area of their choice.

How does OHS view expenditures on analytics and CQI?
The Head Start Performance Standards mandate effective analysis of program data and the application of continuous quality improvement see 1302.102(c). ACF encourages programs to invest resources to build capacity: CQI Guidance for Head Start. This may be treated as TTA or as an operational expenditure.
Is sole sourcing documentation available?

Yes. We have detailed information available to support agencies with sole sourcing requirements.  Contact [email protected] for more information.

What are the payment options?

Programs may choose to pay in full up front (July) or in two equal installments (July and January).  For a specialized invoicing arrangement, contact us directly.

Why is this pricing lower than other analytic services?

Up till now, Head Start programs needing data warehousing and visualization have had to customize.  That’s expensive.  Live data updates also add expense.  By offering a more standardized dashboard, we’re able to reduce cost and enjoy the benefit of benchmarking.  Since most key data sets are only collected periodically, however, 3-4 updates a year are more than sufficient to illuminate key trends, patterns and relationships.

How do these tools affect a Data Manager’s role?

Data Managers love our analytics and CQI resources, because they’re outsourcing the tedious data chores and are able to play a more strategic role:  identifying patterns, forming questions and supporting managers with analysis that informs effective decision making.

Next Steps – Exploring Membership

Subscriptions to the Q.I. Network typically run July 1 through June 30.  Most programs enroll in the Winter or Spring, as they plan and budget for the coming year.

The first step is an introductory call to better understand your needs and to share initial information. Next, we’ll arrange a presentation and demo to share more information with your team and discuss exactly how our resources would address your program’s local needs.

WHAT OUR MEMBERS SAY

“The Q.I. Network felt expensive when we first applied, but now after receiving the dashboards, CQI training and continuous coaching, it definitely is one of the best values of any service we’ve purchased. We are very pleased and are renewing our membership for another year.” Wassy Tesfa Head Start Executive Director Pacific Clinics
“I appreciate that the dashboards address areas that have been overlooked in the past, such as family services. The analytics connect child assessments to family needs and outcomes, giving our staff visibility across silos and into the connections between family life and child learning.” Denise Lee Head Start Program Director Sacramento Employment and Training Agency (SETA)
“The Q.I. Network design is truly remarkable. It’s the most exciting thing I’ve seen in Head Start in a while and I can’t wait until our team gets really steeped in this work and starts to see the impacts on our child and family outcomes.” Debbie Peralez Child Start, Inc.
“The QI Network has helped us look at program systems with a different perspective. We now have the tools at hand to dive deep into our data, what is working and what we can adjust for improvement. It has allowed us to improve our intake process with families, saving time for our Family Advocates. We are beginning to apply the processes to other systems within the program and are excited about the potential results.” Jill Brenner Deputy Director/Child Development Manager Kitsap Community Resources, Washington
“My favorite part of the Q.I. Network experience was working with our coach. This process was the most fulfilling for me personally in regards to what I do here at our program in the area of CQI, program planning, self assessment, etc. She provided a forum for our team to think on a deeper level about an area we are struggling with and it forced us to think outside of the box. I found that the methods she used allowed us to work together collectively to come up with solutions and I found that to be quite helpful.” Erica Peterson Planning & Development Specialist Blair County Head Start, Pennsylvania
